KUCHING: Newly established Sarawak Football Die Hard Fans (Sadiehaf) vows to give undying support to the 2011 state Premier League team when the league kicks off on Jan 31.

Sadiehaf general manager Hairul Faizee Saaidin said the fan club has planned to gather all the Crocs supporters statewide to rally behind the team starting this season.

“Sadiehaf together with Radio Era.fm will work closely to give massive publicity for the Crocs and giving full support to the team and Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) and we give whatever they need to get back to top flight,” said Faizee. He told this in a press conference, where they were planning to collect 10,000 signatures of Sarawak football fans together with era.fm statewide which will be presented to the players and FAS management committee soon. Faizee reasoned out getting the 10,000 signatures of the fans was technically realistic and just.

“The fact is that we can always sign for 20 or even 30 thousand of supporters signatures but 10 thousand signatures is a realistic target.

“Sarawak showed an improvement in the last two seasons from rock bottom in 2009 but climbed to sixth placing in 2010; and we are hoping the team to improve this season.”

“Should Sarawak flop again this season, there are still at least 10,000 fans who are giving the undying support to the team.”

Faizee said the event was the first time ever to be held by Sadiehaf and fully supported by era.fm in gathering all the support for the team.

“At first we were planning the collection of signatures only to be held in Kuching and Samarahan, but due to demand by fans from other divisions, we have decided that the campaign will cover statewide to get the signatures,” he said.

He mentioned that the fans in Miri have been informed and no less than 1,000 fans from the northern zone will join the fans in Kuching.

“They will be using bus from Miri to Kuching and all expenses will be borne by the fans but we will be providing the cheapest price for them to travel here,” he added.

Faizee told the press conference that the prelude to the match, there would be sports carnival to be held outside the stadium.

“We will also setting up booths for fans to purchase Crocs paraphernalia. The last time we organised the event was in 2009 and this year we will do it again,” he pointed out, adding that Sadiehaf had appointed era.fm as the official radio channel.

“The signatures collecting campaign started since Wednesday and we have travelled to Lim kok Wing University, SMK Tun Openg and the campaign will go on to Swinburne University (today) and will carry on to other places aswell,” he said.

Meanwhile, era.fm operations manager for Kuching Iza Ibrahim said the radio channel had proudly involved in promoting and supporting the team.

“We have involved in Bintang Bola Era vs Sarawak FA game and we are proud to be part of it. We will also continue the programme with the Community Service Announcement (CSA).”

Iza mentioned that the CSA programme will see the Crocs players given interviews on air for the fans to get to know the players.

“We have covered six places this week and we hope to cover at least twelve places by next week in order to get more signatures and support for the Ngap Sayot team,” said Iza
